Dr. Shawn Poitras

Dr. Shawn Poitras is focused on providing a unique experience for his patients. He does this by taking time to listen to patient concerns, educate patients throughout the examination, communicate honestly and compassionately, and making sure all patient questions are answered.

Originally from Campbellton, NB, Dr. Poitras did not take a direct route to becoming an Optometrist. He first obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from UNB in 1998. Following graduation, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 5 years in the Toronto region.

In 2004 Dr. Poitras returned to school once again to pursue a career in Optometry, his true calling. He and his wife moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he attended Nova Southeastern University. He obtained a Bachelor of Vision Science degree and then graduated as class valedictorian with a Doctorate of Optometry degree in May of 2008.

In 2008 Dr. Poitras and his wife settled in the area with their two beautiful children.

Dr. Audrey Leroy

Dr. Audrey Leroy, originally from France, has lived in Canada since 2002.

Dr. Leroy's path to Optometry started while working with children as a licensed Orthoptist. She first became an Orthoptist in 2001 at the University of Medicine in Montpellier France. An Orthoptist specializes in the non-surgical treatment of visual disorders such as amblyopia (a lazy eye) and eye alignment conditions. After graduation, she worked primarily with children, first in France and then in Montreal at the renowned pediatric center in the Saint Justine University Hospital.

It was in 2005 that she decided to continue focusing on her passion of providing eye care services and return to school to become an Optometrist. In 2010 Dr. Leroy graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree and moved to Moncton.

With a love for the local community, she has made roots in Moncton with her husband and two children.

Dr. Leroy has many years of vision care experience and is thrilled to be able to provide high quality patient care. Her unique background as a licensed Orthoptist gives her an expanded skill-set to aid in treatment of complex vision conditions.

Dr. Leroy accepts patients of all ages and prides herself in providing the best possible eye care.
